Why It Exists

Natural Born Running was created to fill a massive gap in the way athletes and everyday people learn to run. Running is the most fundamental human movement - and yet, it's often treated like something you should just "know how to do."

But after years of working with injured athletes, frustrated runners, and everyday people who had lost their confidence in movement, I realized something:

Nobody ever taught us how to run!

And that's where Natural Born Running comes in.

We're here to help you reconnect with your body, learn the skill of running properly, and unlock your potential - whether you're a weekend warrior, returning from injury, or chasing elite performance.

My Story

Hey - I'm Mick - Founder of Natural Born Running, myotherapist, running technique coach, and ex-elite rugby player.

I created this platform because I lived through what so many of you are going through right now. Years ago, I tore my ACL - not once, but three times. And each time, I followed the standard rehab process to the letter.

But when I returned to the gym, now knowing that sport was never going to be in my future, something still felt off. i was stiff, sore, and constantly breaking down. And deep down, I knew I hadn't addressed the root cause.

That's when it hit me: my running was the problem.

I had never actually learned how to run properly. My movement was inefficient, imbalanced, and putting stress on all the wrong area. It wasn't just a lack of strength or flexibility - it was a lack of skill.

So I went all in on understanding how to run well. I studied biomechanics, movement, gait, strength, conditioning and rehab. I got obsessed with efficiency, fluidity, and natural motion.

And once I rebuilt myself from the ground up - I started helping others do the same.

The Vision

Natural Born Running isn't just a program. It's a movement.

We exist to change the way people view running - from a punishment or pain trigger, to a powerful, lifelong skill. We believe everyone deserves to move well, feel strong, and enjoy their body again.
